The courts worth the detour, the ones down the road, and who’s on them.
Est. 2026 · A global club
Tennis Bum Club is where that life has an address. The tour, the courts, the gear, the people, and the small daily religion of the game — in one place, for anyone who lives it.
Free, for life. You get a member number the moment you walk in. 287 members so far.
None of that is a hobby. It’s a way of organising a life — and there are more of us than the sport lets on.
The club
The courts worth the detour, the ones down the road, and who’s on them.
Every tournament on the tour, live results and rankings, and the arguments that come with them.
Tour Tracker →Find the one pillar capping your level, then do something about it. Coaches, not algorithms.
The Academy →Rackets, bags, shoes and the clothes. Curated, not catalogued — we only list what we’d carry.
Pro Shop →City guides, pop-ups, drops and the tennis happening around a tournament rather than inside it.
The NYC US Open pop-up guide →A member number, a home court, and the people who’d also rather be playing right now.
Dispatches
Tennis is covered as a scoreboard. It’s lived as a culture. We write the second one.
Every pop-up, drop and free court in the city for the fortnight — where they are, when they’re open, and what’s worth the subway ride. Free.
Read it →Six bags, six players, one uncomfortable pattern.
In the worksNo booking system, no pro, no dues — and a better ladder than most clubs.
In the worksThe honest version, including the parts that aren’t working yet.
In the worksThe Tennis Bum Passport
Every member gets a number the day they join, and it’s theirs permanently. The Passport is what fills in around it — the courts you’ve played, the surfaces, the tournaments you got to, the club events you turned up for.
Standing here comes from showing up, not from spending. Member No. 1 and member No. 40,000 are the same rank until one of them plays more tennis.

The club is free and stays free. The Academy is for when you want to stop guessing why you lose to people with worse technique than you.
You don’t play at the level of your best shot. You play at the level of your weakest pillar — and almost nobody has been told which of theirs it is, because nobody ever tested them.
The Pro Shop
No catalogue, no sponsored top ten. A short list of the bags, rackets and clothes we rate, plus the brands worth knowing when they drop something.

Members see the shop inside the Clubhouse. Some links earn us a commission; it never changes what makes the list.
Take a number, meet the people, and stop pretending tennis is just something you do on Saturdays.
